Minimum damage on crits

Workin on my spreadsheet and I gots a question:

If you have a str of 6, what be the minimum damage you can do with a scythe on a crit? Is it 1 or 4?

I's inclined to think 4, but I want you cats' opinions.

You are correct.

Simple enough - you roll your 4 four times, and minmum damage is 1, so the minimum would be 4. (Assuming the critical is x4, I didn't go check that)

It is indeed x4. That fact is burned into my brain, after the bugbear gardener in the Sunless Citadel scored a crit in the 1st round of combat and took the party rogue down to -9 hit points. We've been terrified of scythes (and greataxes to a lesser extent) ever since.

You and the previous posters are correct. The minimum damage is 4. Penalties like that are subtracted from all the individual rolls, raised to 1 if they go below, and then all added together.
