Its was pretty well known problem; but I personally havent ordered anything from them in several years, so I can't guarantee my info is up to date. I will say that I mentioned NewWave to the clerks at three different FLGS within the last 6 months with respect to certain hard to get items (Confrontation Minis, Epicast Skull bases, Vallejo's) and they rolled their eyes and smirked and said "Ah, NewWave...". Obviously, every FLGS has a vested interest in this matter; but the conversations I had with the various guys (who were clearly gamers as well) makes me think NewWaves troubles continue. Anyway, for me, I used to order with a group of friends from there. We ordered 2 boxes full of WHFB and WH40K stuff before anything went wrong. In the 3rd box, the hot new Furiso dreadnaught was missing; no note, just an inventory list with no checkmark next to Furiso. It was a nightmare getting a hold of anyone at NewWave to check what had happened; and they seemed to be lying a lot to avoid responsibility -- "Oh, thats Bob's job but he...um....just went to lunch. I'll have him call you back." The Dread was eventually shipped, so that story ends happy. Sorta. My friend was pissed off, he would have ordered his Dread from somewhere else if they had told him it wasnt available at the time. I didnt care that much about the late shipping; but dealing with customer support worried me a lot. And then they started sending me boxes of Blood Bowl I didnt order. Never charged me, just sent me stuff. Hmmm. Same drill on customer service, it was impossible to get a hold of them and whenever you got a live human on the phone they'd just pass the buck to the mysterious "Bob". These experiences dovetailed with the sort of horror stories other people were telling on the 'net at the time; I decided to bail out then before I got burned. Anyway, there used to be a website where people were collecting their NewWave stories; perhaps Googling around the 'net will bring you up to date on their current status.
