mirror image + displacement

Does mirror image stack with displacement (or blur for that matter) ?

Would every image be displaced, or would you effectively negate the mirror images by only displacing the real one ?

Thanks !

Displacement (as it is a concealment bonus) is rolled first to determine if a hit is made. Mirror image is an 'after the hit is verified' effect. So yes, they do, in effect, stack.

Because you'd notice that one of the images was displaced ?

How are you going to tell the difference between a caster who's displaced up to 2 feet away from his true location, and an image that's not displaced, when there are 5 images and one displaced caster, spread out in such a fashion that each image is within five feet of at least one other image or the original caster?

But, if they do in fact stack, that's a powerful combo !
Well it would be, if magic missile didn't trump mirror image...

(Yeah, let's have the MI-vs-MM argument again! It's been what, a week since the last one?)

Yeah, I ran into this a while back as a DM.... and I let it stack since the defensive appeal of it wasn't too overwealming. I just threw some good flanking archers at them once in a while, and the wizard would get more and more nervous as his images disappeared and the rest of the party was tied up in melee.

In at least one case it added to the 'fear factor' of combat in the outdoors, as an image would just disappear and then the wizard would notice that a rogue had snuck up and tried to backstab, followed by that wizard freaking out and running through a hole in the front lines.
