June 13, 2007 In the works from Misfit Studios, under license from Eden Studios. Armed Force, a sourcebook for Armageddon, the game of conflict in the End Times. It is a war between the flesh and the ethereal. It is a war between eternal salvation and undying damnation. It is a war between good and evil. The End Times is all this but, more than anything else, it is a war for absolute survival. Armed Force delves into the war against the forces of Leviathan by providing new details of the bigger picture, and by offering new rules with a military-oriented campaign in mind. Within you’ll find information on America’s military forces, including requirements for building characters of a desired service or unit. Amongst these units are included details on Section 51, the elite and secretive organization hinted at in Enemies Archived. Building characters is further expanded upon by the inclusion of new character concepts, more than 20 new general Qualities and Drawbacks, several new supernatural Qualities and Drawbacks (including Taint abilities), more than 20 Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) packages and new military-specific Qualities and Drawbacks (for ensuring your military-oriented character is up to specs for the concept you have in mind), and new and expanded skills, rounded off with ten new character archetypes to help you on your way. But what about the enemy? What’s in store for the Army of Revelations? The simple answer is … LOTS. When it comes time to preparing a game, the Chronicler will be outfitted with details on the AoR, including ranks, tactics, deployments and goals, branches of service and special units (including some elite units that will really test your characters’ mettle), and plenty of sample NPC combatants to help make getting a game underway easier and faster. That already sounds like a lot to pack into one book, but there’s more to come. In the Rules of Engagement, you’ll find new rules on everything from basic and advanced combat tactics and maneuvers (including naval combat, detailed combat results, such as bleeding and expanded information on what happens when a specific location on the body is targeted) to booby traps and martial arts. And what would a war be without man pitting himself against the environment? That’s why Armed Force includes new rules on surviving extreme environmental conditions such as dangerous weather, hazards such as earthquakes, and more! Rounding out the other chapters are hordes of new weapons and gear, including expanded vehicle rules and characteristics to make choosing what one takes or drives into battle all the more relevant, capped off with statistics for dozens of new and revised vehicles. Last but not least are the chapters filled with new metaphysics (including battlefield places of power, invocations, and information on what happens when gear and vehicles become corrupted with Taint), nearly a dozen new creatures, a bounty of adventure ideas, and an adventure generator for providing the wide paint strokes of the who, what, why, and where of your next game session. When the time comes to go to war and face Armageddon, be sure you’re prepared with the right tools for the job. Don’t go into battle without your copy of Armed Force, coming soon.
