Mittendein suffers for not helping!

Mittendein, which showed no particular favoratism to the legal Emperor over the deposed heir, suffers for that decision as swarms of small units of fleeing goblins and hobgoblins, losers of the civil war in Ulruz, infest the rural areas of the nation and threaten the important river trade between Mittendein and the rest of the world, which has to pass through unclaimed wilderness and a neutral citystate on the coast before leaving or entering the river into the ocean.

Well it hasn't really been detailed. But it's been mentioned, though not named.

It stood out to me because I just taught the Italian Renaissance to my 7th graders and we talked about city states.

Mittendein doesn't extend all the way to the ocean, but there's a mighty river that goes through Mittendein to the sea. There's a neutral City State there, full of mercantile intrigue
