If your players ask for something, and you are not sure tell them they can try it out, but if you don't like it that you may take it away so they have a backup plan. You can also post the specific idea here so players can tell you about their experience with it.  There are not too many things that are too powerful for every group, but there are a lot of things than can be hard to deal with for newer players and DM's.I think pathfinder is more streamlined. There a some rule changes that will catch you off guard. I have been using for a little over a year, and it took a while for me to get every rule change down. Overall I think Pathfinder is the better system.</blockquote>
