Bah, I love complex bookkeeping. Here is what I was envisioning and why I laid it out this way. His super-strength and super-con are tied together, mutated enhancements of his already present strengths. His protection and strike abilities are further enhancements because in addition to general health, his skin has become tougher and harder to penetrate (protection), which also conveys the strike ability since his body is harder and can now do additional lethal damage. The stunt of course is so I don't have to kill anyone. All these abilities are tied together, making them naturally costly to increase all together or even in steps based of strength. I didn't link the amazing saves to anything as I viewed them as items seperate from his super strength and constitution. Along with the toughening of his body (based off his strength), his instincts have been enhanced by the mutations. He simply "knows" how to avoid damage, how to push his body harder without tiring and his mind reacts to dangers on its own. Thus, even if something were to rob him of his strength based powers, his instincts would still offer him some protections. I think I understand the reason behind not wanting Super-Con, Protection and Amazing Save giving a total bonus higher than your power level. The potential for having impossible to touch characters is mind boggling. So I'll happily go with that (if there is a book rule covering this, can you point me to it? I'm trying to absorb the books, but probably have missed some things). However, what is very cool about how I have designed him is that even should someone cancel his super strength power, his amazing saves offer him limited protection. Also, if he manages to advance in power level, the stacking will give him a small bonus to his saves without having to spend points improving his powers, something I hadn't considered before. I'm pretty happy with my character, even if super-con and amazing save won't stack. I'd prefer not to change the power structure unless it's a major issue as I don't think it's necessary that my powers work perfectly in harmony. Some overlapping can be good, especially if someone up and cancels out my super-strength based powers and as mentioned, it may allow him to spend points in other areas as his combined abilities to absorb and avoid damage will now naturally improve as he gains power levels. Hope that explains my thinking. Good lord, I do ramble on...
