Model for Avenger?

Hi all,

Has anyone found good models to use for Avengers? What I want to find is a model for a Human wearing a hooded cloak and wielding a greatsword. I've looked everywhere, tried the Reaper Miniatures Figure Finder and have had no luck. Everything with a huge sword seems to be wearing too much armor. Any suggestions?

I don't know if the sword is big enough, but the deepshadow elf from Giants of Legend (WotC, prepainted) might work. You can probably buy one from Auggie or from somone on Hordelings or maxminis.

You could also take any number of cloaked DDM figures and a Longtooth Barbarian (should be cheap/easy to get), trim the weapons and simply glue the greatsword/scabbard from teh back of teh barbarian to the back of the other figure.

Heh, I had the exact same dilemma. Well, it was an elf, but otherwise, yeah, cloak and greatsword isn't a popular combo. :/

I ended up settling on some ranger mini with a grey cloak, green armor and a bow.

For Vargas, my deva avenger, I use one of Privateer's awesome Hordes minis. The one I have is from their Druids of Orboros set. I just replaced the arm holding the staff with a greatsword from one of the old Chainmail minis.

How much armor under that cloak? This guy has plate, but a clever paintjob could make it look kinda like leather:

The guy seems to have a greatsword... but he's also got a shield. Go figure.
