Model for Avenger?

Reeve the Pious. Interestingly enough, he was the first hit when I searched "hood" in the bar.

Nice mini...but not him! Still, it's as close to him as I've ever seen, and is a better sculpt to boot! The only thing I prefer about the one I have is his face is nearly completely obscured.

a mini to best represent my Eladrin Avenger.

Can you describe him a bit? What is his weapon of choice?

There's a link to my rendition of him in my last post if you'd like a good visual idea! He uses a longsword [scrapped the dual wield idea recently, since it's not as viable as I'd thought], as an Eladrin specialty, and wields in both hands. Really, I would want just a reasonable sword in hand of a robed, fey character, though it's been tough finding one that fits - and is male! The Elf Pyromancer mini I've seen could fare well with a repaint, but I'm feeling closer to the modification idea right now.

He's also an Avenger of Erathis, for what it's worth!

Eep. One thing I failed to notice about Tariq, Ranger Chief is that he's a pewter figure. Not so easy to modify with an Exacto knife and some super glue. Drat. I shall continue my research.

The Templar has a fair bit of likeness that I... Well, like, hahah. Kinda put off by the shield though... Been a deterrent for a bunch of other minis that have otherwise been pretty close, unfortunately.

Well, for myself I'm going to undertake some crafting and try to build my own mini with clay. I will sculpt him, bake him, paint and lacquer him, and perhaps make a mold of him in case problems arise and I need some resin copies. I found a pretty interesting Instructible that shows some basics for those without any training: Custom RPG Minis

I have air-dry clay I'm going to practise with first, before I get baking clay. If my attempts work out well, I'll certainly post some pictures!

Okay, so today I did some practising with my crummy clay and one of these looks somewhat decent... With the right figure, I paid closer attention and followed the instructions which resulted in much more stability. The clay is not very malleable unless it's wet so I've had some issues, but it's not bad to practise on. Either tomorrow or the day after, I should have my Sculpey and be able to make some more pieces that should look like my character. They will hopefully also be the right scale and proportions.

The lesser of these two evils may be painted anyhow, so I can get detail practise as well. He may just be a large, generic Avenger in that case. We shall see.

I'm excited to get the proper materials to make proper pieces. =D Updates to come.
