Big Finger Games is pleased to announce its first Modern D20 product, The Versatile Hero.
More than just a unique new base class unlike anything published for Modern D20 before, The Versatile Hero features newly compiled talent trees for the existing base classes as well, all designed to mesh seamlessly with any pre-existing Modern D20 game.
The Versatile hero is the proverbial jack-of-all-trades. If you've ever imagined a character concept so unique and original that you couldn't quite fit it into one of the pre-existing base classes, the Versatile hero is for you. Never settle for "almost" the character you actually wanted to make again.
Although a new base class-- one not dependent on any one ability score-- is exciting enough to be a whole product, that's not enough for Big Finger Games. Even six new talent trees-- comprised of both new talents and abilities selected from various OGC sources, edited for game balance and consistency-- are not enough for the folks at Big Finger. The Versatile hero also features the new "Development Point" mechanic, fully integrated with the Modern SRD, which allows you to customize all aspects of your Modern d20 character, from base attack bonus to class skills to talent trees.
The most interesting thing about this new mechanic is that it allows all the benefits of the "point buy" game systems out there, but does so while not really changing the existing character creation rules one jot. This book won't change your Modern D20 game at all . . . except by allowing players to make their characters exactly the way they want them.
