Im working on a modified version of the BoVD Vermin Lord. I changed it so that it is more focused as a PrC for an evil druid. Just as with the Blighter I'm fixing a predivined spell list. Focusing mostly on summoning Vermin, Acid/Poison Spells and some earth based spells.
Im thinking of giving him some healing abilities, because I need someone with some healing abilities in the party (3 PC's). Dont see a good reason why not, but still not sure...
Im going to remove the Hivemind ability, and most of the other pritty much useless class abilities. I know that Hivemind can be abused immensely, I just dont like the way it functions (Im not really buying the idea were bugs start to cast as sorcerers). The chittin is simple and makes sence, so ill keep that.
I had to replace those abilities with some other nice effects. I like the idea in which he slowely changes in an insectiod/humanoid. Maybe something along the way as the Geomancer.
Options:
Grows a scorpion tail (poison tail attack)
Grows insect mandibles (Some deformity effect, Bite attack)
By some means Tremorsence (30 ft.)
Extra pair of armes (what useful bonus can be related to that?)
Something Else, wide vision? more transformation?
How about an ability that makes him able to transform into a swarm, or upon kill that he burst in to a swarm of vermin.
Anyone with some nice ideas for such a class, or any advice?
P.S: I know about the insectiod creature template, and the vermin... something from FR Underdark I believe. Just dindt think that the template really added to the class overall.
