I love it when the clever plan that you spent the last 2 hours working out fails on the first round and the rest is just improvised. Win or loose, its a hell of a lot of fun to improvise when stuff hits the fan like that. Other things... Seeing the look on the DMs face (and the villians) when your barbarian makes mincemeat of the four demons who were summoned to hold off the party. 3 consecutive Crits with Great Cleave left 1 demon still standing and badly injured. Witty retorts. Those are always the best. When a hydra bit into the Trent character I was playing and did no damage and I proclaimed "You gotta get up a lot earlier in the morning to eat a tree." (of course, the next day, I was preping for one of my games and I realized that bites do slashing damage and the Hydra should have been hurting him, me and the DM laughed it off and its one of the legendary lines of our group.) The one I came up with for the current villian, an Orc Warlord named "The Butcher," when I come upon him and his immediate associates (2 others) I've got "Well, isn't it the Butcher, the Baker and the Candlestick maker." The look on someones face when you tell them the 35 they rolled to hit misses. :uhoh:
