I do ask that you have a webcam, or at least plan on getting one, as I find it easier to roleplay when you can actually see the person.Also, the use of a grid will probably be very limited, as I want this game to be focused more on the story, and less on tactical combat. At the most Skype has whiteboards, if I need to show layout of combat.
