Good afternoon,

Just checking to make sure that my question in regards to the Infernum compared to Mayfair's old Infernus wasn't overlooked. Any comments from Mongoose?

My apologies, I was not being ignorant! It has been a long time since I messed around with Demons personally, so I have been trying to track down Adrian Bott, the Book of Hell's writer. He is busy writing children's stories right now (admitedly, something of a left turn at the traffic lights!) but I have asked him to swing by here and give his version of events!

I got my copy. Though I don't think it's quite as nifty as Book of Dragons, it's got some neat stuff in it.

One quick note: the random time characteristic is rolled 10+d10-d10, but the table goes from -10 to +10. It looks like you originally had the table going from 0 to 20.

Glark. Ah well - most campaigns won't involve random rolls of Time, anyway, so it's not the worst mistake I can imagine.

Infernum?

Good morning, All,

Just wondering if Adrian (or anyone else who may have actually purchased the book already, for that matter) might be able to give me an idea if the Infernum is comparable to the old Mayfair Games' products detailing the Infernus. It's been a week since my last ping on this subject, so I figure I might want to remind some people that I'm still interested.

Good afternoon, All,

Perhaps one of the dedicated fans that have already purchased the Book of the Planes can answer the question.

Is the Infernum based around a primary plane that exists as a crater in the midst of a desolate wasteland, and connected to five demi-planes? Do the five demi-planes of the Infernum perhaps possess the following characteristics?

* One is a sea wracked with storms and populated by foul denizens on shattered islands.

* One is a twisted parody of the realms of the good patrons.

* One is the traditional inferno of sulfur and brimstone.

* One is an apparent paradise, hiding a twisted and corrupt core.

* One is filled with mists that hide incarnations of the most torturous of nightmares and other vile monstrosities.

If it is not as described above, would you mind posting a short, one paragraph description of the Infernum?

Sorry for the delay but I managed to have a word with Adrian. While Mayfair and he certainly used the same original sources, the Infernum of the Book of Planes is not a direct copy of the old Demons box set.

Makes perfect sense, particularly in the wonderful world of copyrights and such. No worries. I just didn't know if it was close enough that I could use my Demons conversions in the Infernum without major rewrites.
