Hi guys,

Chronomancy - The Power of Time has just come back from the printers, the very latest in the Encyclopaedia Arcane series (up to nine books now, funny how time creeps up on you - Wizards and Sorcerers will soon have a veritable library at their fingertips). With our second Elmore cover, it is also one of our nicest looking too.

Written by Mongoose new-comer Robin Duke, Chronomancy gives all an arcane spellcaster needs to know about using his magic to influence time. No new core classes or prestige classes are needed to start using this book, as Chronomancy is treated as another specialist school of magic, though serious practitioners will want access to the Chronomancer Feat in order to be able to take full advantage of the rules in this supplemment.

A detailed 5 page Overview of Chronomancy sets the scene for this unique form of magic. True chronomancers are part of the awakened, those who see form, function and reality for what it really is. It also sets the (very real) limitations upon Chronomancy as a school - no hopping about across the centuries to disrupt campaigns! This chapter also looks at the dangers of Paradox and a Chronomancer who pushes the forces of time too far will soon find they start to bite back - he may even be sucked out of time completely!

A whole range of new Chronomancy spells are covered including the nasty Ageing Stroke, Branard's Future Dispatcher and the awesome Time's Chariot. The real power of the Chronomancer, however, lies in Ritual Chronomancy, where the practitioner will literally fracture the foundations of reality and pull together the forces of both the real world and time itself. It is a simple enough task to perform, but a nightmare to master. Those practicioners less sure of themselves may wish to attmept Fortune Telling as an interesting sideline of true Chronomancy but while there are many different ways of practising it, only a fool would rely on such advice.

New Chronomantic magic items abound, and the Games Master has an 8 page chapter to himself, describing just how Chronomancy should be handled within a typical campaign. We at Mongoose were very leery of any magic system with the potential to disrupt campaigns as Cheronomancy can have, but Robin Duke has given the subject the respect it deserves, and Games Masters will safely be able to let it into their campaigns knowing that while it adds a new dimension to practising Wizards and Sorcerers, their power will never become too unbalancing or send scenarios off into directions never even dreamed of.

This 64 page supplement is wrapped up by a look at some of the creatures that exist within the Void-Between, the very stuff of time itself. Chronovoires, Destiny Haunts and Warp Ranagers all stand by to give the unruly Chronomancer a very hard time.

Encyclopaedia Arcane: Chronomancy - The Power of Time will be available in UK shops within the next couple of weeks, while gamers in the US will have to wait until the middle of August, though we will have a few copies with us at Gen Con! A full preview (as well as the stunning artwork) will be up on our web site within a day or two.

Bring the Power of Time to your games and inflict some serious hurt on your enemies!

This sound wonderful Matt Chronomancy has always been a favorite of mine. Two quick questions though.

First when is Elementilism coming out in the US I can't hardly wait?

Second what books are coming out in the future in this line beyond enchantment and star magic?

Keep the great books coming.

Elementalism, let me see. . . It should only be a couple of weeks or so. We have recently had a change in our distribution strategy, so while the US will still lag by a short while, this will be greatly decreased.

Quite a few! We have all the specialist schools of magic found in the PHB either ready to go or in an advanced stage of completion. On top of that, we have such delights as Familiars, Crossbreeding (a personal favourite), Taoist (a Divine title), Tantric Magic (I kid you not!), Blood Magic, Dragon Sorcery and oodles more!

Tantra

So, my big question about Tantric magic is -- how do you convince orcs to get into some of those positions with you?

Oh, and are illithid double-jointed?

:D

Aaron

(P.S. Yes, I am aware there is much more to Tantrism than sex. I'm just kidding.)
