Hi guys, Another month over, and another one beckons. Time to review what the Mongoose has planned for gamers in July. . . The Quintessential Dwarf By Sam Witt With a heavy pick slung over his shoulder, the bearded miner heads deep into the earth in search of precious metals and gemstones. The smith swings his hammer again and again, beating half-molten metal into cleaving axes and crushing hammers. Crouched in the stygian depths of the underland, a lone scout watches as his enemies prowl past and waits for his chance to strike. Burrowing through the underland, a merchant guides his caravan toward the Silverbore and the riches beyond. Encyclopaedia Arcane: Elementalism - The Primordial Force By Alejandro Melchor Common arcane lore divides physical existence in four basic elements: Air, Earth, Fire and Water. By manipulating these elements, arcane spellcasters create some of the most spectacular effects of magic, raising walls of stone around them or raining fiery death upon their enemies. Unlike druids, who control nature's resources out of a pact of mutual respect, wizards and sorcerers master the raw elemental forces without permission and, most of the times, even without acknowledgement. The Slayer's Guide to Orcs By Matt Forbeck Orcs are the foot soldiers of evil, the creatures that make up the hordes of darkness that threaten to overwhelm the good peoples and turn the entire land into a region of little else than slaughter and depravity. Most Games Masters use them as the guardians of low-level dungeons, just a slight step above kobolds as a threat. Often they are simply portrayed as evil humans and are given little more thought than that. The Slayer's Guide to Rules Lawyers By James Desborough Rules-Lawyers are an unexpectedly hardy breed of disgusting humanoid (at least in physique) creature. To all outward appearances they are a normal human being, like you or me, and it is only by their strange behaviour and by very close (often post-mortem) physical examination that they are revealed to be anything other than Homo Sapiens. Scholars are in agreement that Rules-Lawyers have been around at least as long as games of any kind have existed. Some go as far as to say they have existed as long as rules themselves have existed in this universe. The Rookie's Guide to Block Wars By Matthew Sprange One of the most dangerous phenomena in Mega-City One is the block war, mass-hysteria resulting from tension rising between neighbouring city blocks to violent levels. Usually instigated by the most militant member of the local citi-def or a particularly hot-headed citizen, these conflicts are a major problem for the judges as blocks rake each other with firepower and fighting sprawls out onto the streets. Occasionally, block wars see the use of heavy artillery to win the day, resulting in thousands of depths and even the collapse of an enemy block. Mega-City One's Most Wanted By Matthew Sprange The official Screen for the Judge Dredd RPG is made from high quality cardstock and provides the Games Master with everything he needs to run scenarios within Mega-City One. Also incorporated is Mega-City One's Most Wanted, a supplement giving full rules for the most famous (and notorious) personalities to have appeared in the comic strip, including the dastardly Angel Gang, Judge Dredd, Psi-Judge Anderson and Galen DeMarco, PI. Happy gaming!
