** Warning! Suggested for mature readers only. This book contains gender based parody of both men and women which may offend some people ** Hi guys, It had to be done :) After tackling the very tricky subject of Rules Lawyers, James Desborough (Munchkin's Guide to Powergaming) now turns a cynical and humourous eye to that most strange of species, the Female Gamer. The Slayer's Guide to Female Gamers has quickly followed Medusas and has also just landed on my desk, all ready for convention season! Now, if you are looking forward to useful information to bring to your tabletop games, this ain't the book for you. Not by a long shot. If, however, you are after an hilarious parody of the gaming industry in general, as well as those who participate in it (at all levels), I think this may just be the book you have been looking for :) James kicks off with a look at the Historical Role of Female Gamers, charting their progress from prehistory (before Game Creation) to the present day, poking all sorts of fun at men (noble men!) who have striven to get girls involved in gaming, as well as those who play Vampire. . . Female Gamer Physiology continues by looking into what actually makes these creatures work - how they think, how they can sometimes manipulate those around them, their all powerful sixth sense, and a gallant look into the mechanics of Fuzzy Logic. The typical Warfare chapter of the Slayer's Guides is very short, as it seems that Female Gamers rarely engage in open combat, and the full magnitude of their defensive powers against male gamers is fully detailed within Physiology. However, when Female Gamers _do_ actually go to war, it can be a fearsome sight. . . Of perhaps more use to the male gamer unsure of approaching these fascinating creatures is the Roleplaying with Female Gamers chapter, giving everything a player needs to know on how to adapt games to facilitate the strange demands placed upon it by gamers of the female persuasion. Games Masters are given ready clues on how to portray female characters using such classic archetypes as the Princess and the Wench (if you get a chance, check out the illustration, by Nathan Webb, on page 23 - it may take a few minutes to 'get it' but it had me in stitches :)). Players will find advice on how to actually entice Female Gamers to their table and, more importantly, keep them there. A detailed look at the racial traits of the Female Gamer race (including special race ability 'The Look'), two new prestige classes for Female Gamers (I cannot believe our editor cut some of these out, but it was probably for the best - we may PDF them if there is demand :)), feats (Pout, for example), magic items (Hot Pants) and spells (Power Word 'Fine', Male Servitude) complete this book. The Slayer's Guide to Female Gamers is 32 pages of fun and nonsense. It takes the Michael out of males as much (more?) as females and I think any serious long term gamer may well see shades of themselves in this book. Now I am off to try and work out how to dispel multiple castings of that Break Technology spell. . . This book is on its way through the distribution chain right now but we will have a few copies waiting for you at GenCon!
