Mongoose's demonology - anyone using it?

i posted this a few days ago, but it's disappeared.

i was reading through demonology, armies of the abyss, and legions of hell, thinking about ways to introduce them into my campaign...

i was wondering if anyone was using the demonolgy rules.

i was thinking about changing them a bit... no demon lore (or fiend lore) skill, but using knowledge (arcana) with higher DCs, and allowing anyone to use demonology, but specialist PrCs get the better roles (particularly important with the contorl rolls).

what do you guys reckon?

I replied in that previous thread that I have the book but would be extremely reluctant to let PCs play from it (or even let NPCs play without severe constraints.)

A lot of the balance of the product seems to be in the idea that you are granted a power far beyond your level as long as you are willing to take a serious risk. Very much in flavor, but if you dont want PCs and nearby towns frequently being consumed by angry demons then I dont see how you can run this ruleset. (OTOH, if you're running an all-evil campaign where people are expecting treachery and sudden death then it might fit right in.)

I intended it to be used for NPCs myself, but after reading the rules I figured the first thing the NPC would do on discovering that he was being investigated was form a nine word sentence like "kill the people who are investigating me now <demon name>!" and then either a huge demon would appear and try and frag the party or a huge demon would appear and dominate the NPC to use him as a conduit for his own evil plans.

basically, i was planning on using it as a plotdevice... to justify things like the minor demon lost on the prime.

but i was thinking of a major villian too...

but it does have heaps of risks. liuckily none of my PCs can take the class!
