I thought I had posted this last night, but I cannot find it. I do not have the PHB yet and was just thumbing through someone else's copy because we have two monks at our table. Looking at the monk, the PHB says that you add your STR or DEX bonus to unarmed strikes and weapon attacks. This seems to me that monks get to add their ability bonus to damage for all of their strikes while everyone else needs two weapon fighting style to do that. Does that seem like what everyone else is coming up with?

That is correct. They do not use the Two Weapon fighting rules with Monk weapons and unarmed strikes.
