By the rules each 50% increase in HD increases the CR by 1, correct? For someone reason, I can't quite remember what the rule is.

Savage Species provides a new system. For a creature with (originally) odd-numbered HD, add 1 for the first additional HD and then 1 for every two HD added after that. For a creature with (originally) even-numbered HD, add 1 for every two additional HD.

Actually, the book calls this a "quick and dirty" system, and provides a more detailed system too.
