Monster Manual Rituals and D&D Compendium

Okay guys, I just checked the D&D Compendium (as a subscriber, if it makes any difference), and discovered several rituals I was not aware of, all listing the Monster Manual as their original source. Each of these rituals is presented in the D&D Compendium with a full write-up, including unique flavour text:

  • Aboleth Servitor;
  • Create Golem;
  • Create Guardian;
  • Create Helmed Horror;
  • Create Homonculus.
Now here's the thing: I like rituals. I like to know where they are and when they were released, for my Ritual Index project (check my sig). They weren't in the Compendium a couple weeks ago, when I last checked. They are also not in my copy of the Monster Manual, which came from the boxed set I received from Amazon.ca in June. (However, each of these five rituals is mentioned in the appropriate entries.)

Do these rituals appear in later printings of the Monster Manual? What about October's Deluxe Monster Manual, which was supposed to incorporate updates and errata? (I don't have a Deluxe copy.) Is there an update file somewhere that I've missed, since 11 August 2008*? Or is this something forthcoming, only present in the Compendium at the moment?

Any insight anybody's got on this matter would be greatly appreciated! :D

*I love new updates! Why haven't they released more? It's nice to know my books can be old, and still up-to-date.

Interesting. This makes the second time they've done something like this, the first being Vecna's Wrathful Eye and Vecna's Subjugating Claw, which were Wizard powers listed as being from "H2 Thunderspire Labyrinth" despite that they were not.

...and checking again, those two powers are now totally gone from the Compendium.

Hmm... I dunno, but I am checking this out myself *checks out* well that is neat.

In the Digital Insider it states yesterday they updated the Compendium and it included stuff from the Deluxe Core Rulebooks so that is probably where they are from.

So the deluxe set not only added errata, but included new things never before seen that are part of the core rules from here on out?

I can deal with Lamp oil not being in the books as being looked over, but rituals added as well?

Will new printings other than Deluxe have these things? Will they be legal for RPGA use?

Will these rituals get included in future errata for those who cannot afford to buy the deluxe books just to have them?

Will my RSS reader ever update with the new WotC feed?

OR, does this mean that the Compedium will have special things that as for insiders only even for the core books?

Hmm... So we all suspect "Deluxe Monster Manual", but nobody's got confirmation yet? Maybe I'll head down to the FLGS and see if they've got an open copy for me to look at.

I gotta say though, if stuff's being added without being put into an update file, I will be fairly cheesed off! (Like I mentioned before, I like updates! :))

BTW, Merric: What of these PDFs you mentioned? Did you pay for PDF copies of the core books, or are they available elsewhere for free? (Legally, I mean.) I'm curious!
