A monster grants cover to another monster against a PC?

I mean, if the pc is in a 5' wide corridor, and has in front of him a kobold and behind a kobold mage, the kobold mage has cover? And if it has, it's a superior cover?

In a larger room, if the pc target a monster and his LoS touches another monster before hitting the target, the target has cover?

In both cases the monster have cover, but not superior cover.
