A tooke resembles, more than anything, a six-inch diameter ball of fur. It has tiny forepaws, long hind legs, which it uses to hop through thick brush, and massive eyes. A thin tail serves to stabilize the creature. The creature is considered by most humanoids as “cute” or even “darling”, but tookes are little but pests. A tooke can (and does) consume twelve times its body weight in a day, and they are alarmingly fecund. A tooke litter can contain 40 individuals, all equally ravenous. Left unchecked, tookes devour any plants in their path, leaving a path of destruction parallel to that of locust swarms. Combat Tookes avoid combat, but due to their population size and ravenous appetites, it often finds them. Tookes are extraordinarily skilled at surviving, however, and will usually try to flee. If cornered or starving, they will bite attackers. Defensive Roll (Ex): Tookes are skilled at avoiding damage, which they do via a reflexive backflip. They have the defensive roll class feature as an 11th level rogue. Improved Evasion (Ex): Tookes are more than capable of getting out of harm’s way. They have the improved evasion class feature as an 11th level rogue. Poison Immunity (Ex): Tookes are immune to all poisons, whether natural, mineral or magical. Uncanny Dodge (Ex): Tookes are always alert to danger. They have the uncanny dodge class feature as a 3rd level rogue. In the Realms Tookes were first found in Faerun on the Chultan Peninsula. There, the carnivorous plants and jungle diseases kept them in check. Unfortunately, a single pregnant tooke managed to get aboard a Calim:):):):)e merchant vessel carrying furs from Chult.
