Ok, so Xath posted about a month ago about some Monster Manual information that included Monstrous Races for PCs. I saw several things on there that tickled my fancy, but I wanted to state a few more with some suggestions. Here is a current KNOWN list of Monstrous Races that Xath posted: Gnome Bugbear Minotaur Shadar-Kai Githyanki Kobold Warforged Shifter Doppleganger/Changeling (They are one and the same in 4e) First of all, woot for Gnome, Kobold, and Warforged. Here are a few that I really really really WANT to see: Half-Orc (wheres the love? I thought they be in the PHB originally) Satyr Lizardman Frog-man (cant think of correct name right now) Yuan-Ti Goblin (damn straight I would play a Goblin Rogue) Thri-kreen (they need to fix 4-arms though) Drow Aasimer (with a new background) Half-Giant Half-Ogre As you can see, I am dreaming of an all green-skin party of players complete with a Yuan-Ti Cleric, Froggy Ranger, and Lizardman Evil-Paladin. I ALSO WANT TO SEE LYCANTHROPE DONE RIGHT. Remember Rassater from the Forgotten Realms books? I want to be a RAT MAN. Now, one question comes to mind: will the Monstrous PC Races be equally as powerful, more powerful, or less than the races that we already see in the PHB Lite? I am going for equal, so I dreamed up a couple of cool things I would do with the Half-Orc, my all-time favorite race ever. Most of this is just for fun. Stats for Half-Orc: Ability Scores: +4str, +2Con, -2Int. (could cut the str to +2 and get rid of int -2) Size: Medium Speed: 6 (or 7?) Vision: Low-light (or DarkVision??) Language: Common and/or Orc Skill Bonuses: +2Intimidate, +2 Athletics, +2 Endurance (could take out one) Racial Traits: BLOOD REIJ(pronounced "rage"): When the Half-Orc gets bloodied, once per encounter, he can enter a blood reij, dealing greater damage in his blind fury at the cost of accuracy(?). Encounter + Minor Action Personal Special: Only when Bloodied Effect: Add character level to damage and -3 from chance to hit (or AC?). Also add +2 to Will defense. Lasts for 4 rounds or until dead or not bloodied any more. INTIMIDATION AURA: Often it pays to have a Half-Orc in the room when interrogating an individual. Effect: Grants +2 Intimidate to all allies within 10 squares. TASTES LIKE CHICKEN: When a Half-Orc gets hungry, he sees no difference from an enemy Gnome and a stuffed roast. Encounter + Minor Action Personal Special: only works against size small or smaller. Effect: Grants +2 to hit eagerness bonus when facing an enemy size category small or smaller. Effect lasts for 4 rounds or until there are no more small or smaller enemies left to fight. STFU : Born of two stubborn parents, Half-Orcs are a stubborn race themselves. Many Half-Orcs have learned to "tune out" many commands by sticking their fingers in their ears and chanting "STFU" really loudly. Daily + Minor Action Personal Effect: When a Spell is casts that is Mind-effecting on the Half-Orc, he gains a temporary +2 to Will Defence. +4 if the spell constist heavily of verbal components or commands, such as "Die", or "Sleep." This effect lasts only for the duration of the spell that triggered the tantrum. As you can probably tell, the last two are just jokes, but the first to racial traits are kinda serious. What you think guys?
