Monte Cook speaks about the finished BoVD

From Monte's website:

"Just got my copy of the Book of Vile Darkness
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
and it looks pretty cool.

Some of the illos are... pretty disturbing. More disturbing than I had envisioned, anyway. But most of it is quite good, and the layout and presentation is great. And I sure think the editors did a great job.

I actually think that some of the blood and gore in the illos detracts from the illustrations. That's no fault of the artist, though. That's the direction that they got. For the most part though, it's pretty cool looking. I think you'll particularly like illustration of Orcus, Dispater, Mephistopheles, the Eye of Fear and Flame, and the Goblin Pits of Io-Rach. (You'll see what I mean in a week or two.) " --Monte Cook

For some reason I seem to read Kai Lord's posts a lot. Maybe its the Lone Wolf reference. Anyway - back on topic...

I have to admit that I am very interested in this book. My group and I are all in our mid 20s so there are no parents to worry about offending and my imagination just is not that vile. My players tend to respond to really BAD bad guys and this book may just help me build them the right way.

If the spells, feats, and PrC's in the BoVD are half as interesting as those in Dragon 300 I'll definitely be picking up the book.

Dude! Where'd my post go? Did I miss more "not so nice" commentary? What was so bad that all reference to it was deleted (probably including this post in a minute)?

Darkness just helped remedy the inadvertant thread hijack, that's all. :)
