Monte Cook?

I've never heard of something being referred to as a "Monte Cook Quest" per se. However, if you mean a Monte Cook product, that's much easier; its just a product with Monte's name on it. He has probably the best name-recognition of anyone in the d20 industry, since he has (most deservedly) a reputation for making products that are interesting, balanced, and fun to use.

Monte currently runs his own d20 company, Malhavoc Press. They make PDF products, and are affiliated with Sword & Sorcery Studios in the production of print versions of those same products. Check out his homepage over at http://www.montecook.com

Monty Haul?

Might the term you are referring to be "monty haul"?

As far as I know, a monty haul quest would be a quest that involves a lot of treasure, generously doled out to the PCs by the DM.

Could that be it?

Cheers!

Actually it's an adventure when you need to open a large restaurant chain across the Forgotten Realms, so you go on a "Monty Cook Quest"...

Not to be confused with the Nutkinland Exclusive, the "Full Monty Cook Quest."

Well, Monte Cook has a reputation for writing high-powered, high-magic 'meatgrinder' scenarios. He seems to have been the primary instigator of the whole 'every major NPC is a half-dragon half-fiend paragon mindflayer' 3e thing... :)

Munchkin Master's Guide

The MMG details several camapign types (Monty Hall, Monty Haul, Monte Carlo, Monte Cristo...) and goes on to say what a swell guy Monte Cook is.

It's a very, very funny book.

Of course as a Monte fanboy I'll have to chime in that his adventures are pretty much normal powered, with normal magic. Normal according to D&D 3e rules, of course ;)
