Moon Domain

greeting everyone,
i need some opinions. i am playing a female drow cleric of eilistraee in the forgotten realms. i have the moon domain as one of the two domains. the granted power for that domain says "You can turn or destroy lycanthropes as a good cleric turns or destroys undead. This ability is usable a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Charisma modifier." my dm does not know i have this ability cant wait to spring that on him. he he he. my question is does the number of times per day separate from turning undead (meaning i can turn undead lets say 5 times per day and lycanthropes 5 times per day) or is does it mean i can either turn undead or lycanthropes up to five times per day? i'd guess is the second choice , but thats what the boards are made for.

Nope.
The two abilities get separate, and equal counters: 5 each.

my dm does not know i have this ability cant wait to spring that on him. he he he.

er.... how can your PC have an ability that your DM doesn't know about? Particularly if its the domain ability? Depending on the situation springing things on your DM is usually a good way to screw up a campaign.

he knows i have the moon and charm domain, but i dont think he has actually read it, he has not said anything about it. as for screwing up a campaign i highly doubt it. turning creatures does not screw up a campaign, if anything they make reoccuring problems for the PC when they least expect it. plus, its good to throw the dm a few curveballs, besides he likes to kept on his toes.
