I decided to leave skill points alone...2 + Int seems to work out pretty well for wizards, since they typically have high Intelligence. I also revamped my previous idea about the Knowledge (arcana) skill and metamagic feats. See, I noticed that a clever player could gain far too many bonus feats too quickly by tweaking his Intelligence and choosing certain skills. So here is what I came up with: Arcane Knowledge: for every 5 ranks in Knowledge (arcana), a wizard gains any one metamagic feat for free as a bonus feat. As with all bonus feats, the wizard must meet the requirements of a particular feat before he can select it. As for the Arcane Craftsmanship ability, Sigurd makes a very valid point...ranks in the Craft skill should have been a requirement for all item creation feats. But that is a whole 'nother thread, I am afraid. In the meantime, I kinda like the way this class ability is written...so I fixed a few typos and balance issues and this is what I got: Arcane Craftsmanship: wizards who focus their studies on craftsmanship eventually learn to weave magic into their products. By placing enough ranks into appropriate Craft skills, a wizard can gain item creation feats for free as a bonus feat. 6 ranks in Craft (alchemy): free Brew Potion feat 6 ranks in Craft (calligraphy): free Scribe Scroll feat 15 ranks in Craft (jewelry): free Forge Ring feat 9 ranks in Craft (woodwork): free Craft Wand feat 12 ranks in Craft (woodwork): free Craft Rod feat 18 ranks in Craft (woodwork): free Craft Staff feat 8 ranks in both Craft (weaponmaking) and Craft (armormaking): free Craft Arms & Armor feat 6 ranks in any three different Craft skills: free Craft Wondrous Item feat
