Time Projector/Randomizer I think the whole concept of C&C looks great. If the system is as simple as they say over at Dragonsfoot then the following can be accomplished: The statblock for an orc looks like this: Orc (5). Which basically means that you face an orc with 5 hp. The rest, in the words of David Hayter, "it's in the game". Right. This might indicate that you won't even need a battlemat. It seems that the old school boys like it that way. The DM says "You enter a 10' by 10' room and you face an orc." The players, naturally, responds in chorus "I CHARGE!". DM and players duke it out. M'key. So, basically you don't even need a table. Except for something to roll dice on. Now, here is my award winning idea: (Well, I haven't won any awards for it just yet.) If you had a device for randomizing numbers as dice do without the need for a surface, you could play C&C sitting on cushions, in the pool or in bed or what have you. What you need is a Time Projector/Randomizer gadget. I don't know if any of these exists to day but wouldn't it be cool if everyone in the game had one of these? You press a button and chose d20. You press a trigger and the device randomly projects a number from 1 to 20 on the wall! With big red letters for all to see. If everybody's got one you could roll initiative on the wall and sort the order right there! Fantastic. Can anyone of you yanks make one of these and sell it on the market or do you know of a device that can do this? For example there might be a USB-device of some kind that connects to a computer that does this. Simply do the randomizing in Excel or Pocket Excel and .. Well, you get the idea.
