Around that time there was another movie called the Unnameable (another short Lovecraft story, similar to From Beyond), which spawned a sequel. In the mouth of madness is superb for Lovecraftian theme, as are a number of movies from the '50's and '60's, such as The Dunwich Horror, Die! Monster, Die!, The Devil rides out (also known as The Devil's Bride) and Curse of the Demon (which I am writing up for my CoC campaign).
