More opportunities in Dragon Magazine!

Monster Junkie
Great news: In this month's Scale Mail, Erik Mona responds to a letter stating that the Campaign Classics issue will return. Not only that, but it will become an annual feature every December!

This is because the sales were up for the issue, and they've received more positive letters about that issue than any other recent issues.

What does that mean for us?

Many opportunities for conversions of setting-specific monsters, that's what!

sounds cool! :) so, are you proposing that we could do things like the Creature Catalog articles that we have been working on, except that they would be themed towards one campaign setting? Keep in mind if this is an annual feature, we have only one shot per year to get something like that published, so I don’t know about “many opportunities”. ;) since we know that the issue would be coming out in December, we would have to set things up so that we could get a final article sent in at least 4-6 months before it gets printed.

I just meant by "many opportunities" a shot at a monster article per campaign setting. Now, obviously, they aren't going to fill the issue with nothing but monsters, but we might propose one article for each defunct setting to increase our chances of one or two getting in.

We've probably already converted enough Maztica and Horde monsters for an article. Same goes for Mystara and Greyhawk.

Also, the articles seemed shorter than usual for Dragon in the last one they did, probably due to the number of campaign settings covered. So instead of 8 monsters, we might only need around four. (Not that we can't propose more).

OK, we can do that. first though, i want to wait to see what kind of a response comes in from both the article i have sent in, and the proposals that you have sent.
