Okay, as I understand it my friend is in front* of the monster, and I am behind* it. (*I know there are no facing concerns, just using this for description).
1)I am a rogue attacking with a dagger, so I get SA. correct?

2)I am in melee range so am flanking, but instead I throw the dagger at the monster.
a)Do I still get SA since it is flanked?
b)Does the monster get an AoO on me?

3) I back up 20 feet (ignore the AoO for movement for now)
a)I am not longer flanking, correct?
b) so no SA with thrown dagger?
c) nor any SA with a bow?

4) What if I am still in melee range (as in the first example), and there is another rogue 20' behind me with a bow. There are two of us flanking the creature, but the 'other rogue' is not flanking, so no SA with the bow?

5) Separate scenario. Rogue is hiding in the woods. Creatures walk by, miss spot check. Rogue, without moving, throws daggers.
a)Rogue gets SA?
b)What happens with hidden status?

Thanks folks.

1) Yes.

2a) No, since you are not flanking. Flanking is a condition, that applies only during a melee attack, it's not a general condition for being on opposite sides of the target only.

2b) Sure.

3) I back up 20 feet (ignore the AoO for movement for now)

c) nor any SA with a bow?

3a) Indeed (also see above for more complete answer).
3b) Correct.
3c) Right.

4) What if I am still in melee range (as in the first example), and there is another rogue 20' behind me with a bow. There are two of us flanking the creature, but the 'other rogue' is not flanking, so no SA with the bow?

4) See above. Flanking only applies during melee attacks!

5) Separate scenario. Rogue is hiding in the woods. Creatures walk by, miss spot check. Rogue, without moving, throws daggers.
a)Rogue gets SA?
b)What happens with hidden status?

5a) When within 30', yes.
5b) The rogue is no longer hidden. There is an optional rule about this called "sniping" in Song & Silence, I think, where the rogue is entitled of a new hide check with a whopping -20 penalty to remain hidden in this situation.

Bye
Thanee

2a) ever think about weapon finesse same result but allow the SA

5 as Thanee said you can try the snipping option(if allowed by the DM) if you are found you can still roll initiative and if you win another round of SA.

Double no on that one.

First no because he uses a bow.

Now, if you and your friend would flang that creature, and the other rogue would stand right before him, he wouldn't be flanking, and would get no SA.

Y = you
C = Creature
R = other rogue
A = your ally

YCA
R

Y and A could SA, cause they're flanking, but R couldn't. It would be possible for you to take a 5ft-step to flank together with the rogue, so you two would get SA

Y
CA
R

or, if it was a big creature

CC
CC <- large monster with 10 ft facing, you all could flank him

YR
CC
CC
A

Now both you and the rogue flank together with the other ally.
