Message: <blockquote data-quote="Terraism" data-source="post: 3674932" data-attributes="member: 278">I've had some free time lately, and I've been looking through some of my lesser-used (or lesser-read) sourcebooks.  This past weekend, it was Libris Mortis, which I'd barely browsed through after I picked it up.  Life gets busy sometimes.Anyway, I really liked some of the stuff I saw in there, especially the monsters section.  I wasn't always - or even often - thrilled with the fluff stuff, full-tilt, but almost all of it looked like fun, mechanically, and just had some spark to it that made me want to play around.  Long story short, I had the itch to start jotting down some notes about the monsters that caught my eye, and it turned into this.More than Claw-Claw-Bite is what I'm calling a series of posts that flesh out some of the critters I've found inspiring, throughout various books.  I'm not going to include stats - I like these books, after all, and I want to encourage having them.  <img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f609.png" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="64" height="64" alt=";)" title="Wink    ;)"  data-smilie="2"data-shortname=";)" />  But the idea is to fill in all the neat details about the creature that the woefully short 3.5 (but still better than 3.0) monster descriptions don't.  Generally, I'll stay within the original idea for the nature - I'm not trying to change them - but I may add a minor ability or two that doesn't serve much by way of a combat purpose (and thus, didn't need to be included in <s>an experience block</s> a compendium about adversaries).Okay.  I promise these won't have this long of a lead-in from now on.  Also, I'm initially posting these <a href="http://www.tarkanan.com" target="_blank">on my website</a>, and sometimes they'll go up there a day or two before here.  If it's interesting enough you care, anyway.  <img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f642.png" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="64" height="64" alt=":)" title="Smile    :)"  data-smilie="1"data-shortname=":)" />  Reserving the rest of this post for an eventual index; the Desiccator comes up next!</blockquote>
