Ok, time for a final comment on the poll :) What appears clearly from the results is that almost all Wizard specialize in a school. That was basically what I expected and what I was trying to get a better picture of, with this poll. I think this comes both more from a RP reason to identify your wizard as a more unique character, but also the extra spells/day are very attractive and play an important role in the choice. Nice to see that every school has its estimators, it probably means that every specialist is worth playing. Transmutation got the highest score, but 6 schools over 8 are between 10% and 20% of the preferences, I'd say the score are quite balanced. It's not surprising that the 2 most wanted schools are probably the ones with the most "ready-to-use" spells. OTOH, I wouldn't have expected that Conjuration and Divination would have got such a low score! Ok, Divination is at first sight the school every newbie may think it's least needed, since it has little usage in action, and I know of entire campaigns where divination spells are almost unused by the PCs. But why Conjuration is so rarely chosen, I really don't know... it's not a matter of "you can live without it", this poll is about your school specialization, not your banned schools; actually I am going to play a Conjurer as my first 3ed Wizard, so I'll soon be able to tell if he works or not :). I have chosen Conj because I think it supports a very wide variety of spells, second only to Transmutation, plus it has more "RP taste" to me, to play e.g. a Summoner than a transmuter. Well, that's all. A thank to anyone who voted here, 125 votes were definitely beyond any expectation of mine! :)
