My signature isn't appearing either. Not sure what is up; probably an EnWorld problem. On the combined plan, if we do it without splitting the party and we don't count on the other FFs attacking then it probably can't hurt. (Although in the worst case, if they see the castles approaching and tip the MFF castle defenses like the magical internal defenses, that wouldn't be so good). FFs move at about 10 miles per hour so it is hard to sneak the FFs up on them. Even with sending coordinating an attack where we have to gain access to a heavily guarded portal and they have to approach when both FFs move at similar speeds seems tough. One way to decouple the timing is to have our FFs try to close and harry the MFF for an extended period of time. Sometime during that period, we go through the portal and let them know we are through at which time they could step up the attack or launch a dragon assault. So:

When we are a day or two away from the portal, the friendly FFs approach as close as possible and launch ooccasional harrying raids. They may need a day or two to approach depending on how cooperative the MFF is.
We signal that we are 10 minutes from going through the portal.
They launch another aerial attack timed to arrive in about 10 minutes.
We go through the portal.
We somehow signal that we are actually on the FF (another sending might work- it would be from a very different location and so will probably not interfere with the other sending).
Everybody attacks.
Only downside I see with that plan is that the MFF may be in a heightened state of alert or that our own FFs might be in jeopardy. On the first point, they will probably be in alert anyway. On the second point, if they can take out our two FFs, we will probably fail in any assault anyway :p ANyway, we shouldn't count on the FFs coming in at the right time. it would be nice if it can be arranged but precise coordination can be difficult. If they are 2 minutes off in their timing, that is 20 combat rounds. For an historical reference on what can go wrong with splitting forces and elaborate plans on convergence, see the Japanese disaster in WW2 at Leyte Gulf. Let's try it but let's also plan on doing it without their assistance. Also, we do need to be able to trigger Fina's spy. Having that spy either block the portal behind us or keep the magic defenses from triggering may be the single most important thing we could have on our side.
