In a thread that i have completely lost, i saw people talking about how over powered the geomancer was.

i'm interested to here people's opinions on it, and also to see if people have any ideas on how to make the class more balanced without losing its extremely cool flavour...

anlso: if anyone can find the thread on prestiege classes and post the link here, that would be great.

At the end of the day it looks fairly powerful, but for most your time in the class I'd say it's slightly weak. You have to take 3 levels divine and 3 levels arcane spellcasters at the least. Either way that's 2 spell levels you lose out on at the lower levels. Yes if you go to 20th you can still cast 9th level spells, but then again for a 20th level shcmoe is the ability to cast arcane spells in armor that great especially considering the number of 9th level spells you can no longer cast per day. Me if asked would you rather cast 3 9th level spells per day and have a caster level of 20 or get some fairly cool special abilities have the caste rlevel of 17 with one 9th level spell and the 3rd level caster ability of a cleric I'd be hard pressed to make a decision. Add in that those levels you got your 20th level caster power could of been in some other prestige class with cool abilities and it really isn't a big deal. The HPs are huge for wizard focussed, and the bab is cool so you can quasi fight, and the saves rock again for an arcane type. So with those added advantages it may be on the slightly too good side but it's close.
