A few comments. #1 Look seriously at the "Talenta Warrior" feat in RoE. It is very handy. #2 You could go barb 1/fighter 4 and master thrower for boomerangs. This assumes you aren't using the multi-classing restrictions. If you are you should _really_ try to talk your DM into having Barbarian be the preferred class of the halflings of the Talenta plains (which it really should be). If you fail at _that_ I guess replace barb with rogue or fighter (if you take fighter all 5 levels your 7th level should be fighter 6 and you can take of the the feats listed at 6.) Build: 1: Barb 1/Talenta Warrior 2: Fighter 1/WF: Boomerang 3: Fighter 2/ Point blank, Precise shot 4: Fighter 3 5: Fighter 4/WS: Boomerang. 6: Master Thrower 1/(trip shot)/(quick draw)/Boomerang Ricochet, Boomerang Daze or Farshot 7: Master Thrower 2 8: Master Thrower 3 (I'd go two-in-one as mounted targets tend to qualify nicely) 9: Master Thrower 4 /Boomerang Ricochet, Boomerang Daze or Farshot 10: Master Thrower 5 (weak spot!) Because of Talenta Warrior, you are going to be still an effective HTH fighter (well that plus a clawfoot!). Disadvantages: * Obviously your damage is limited, as is your range. Boomerangs sorta suck until higher levels. * No mounted archery feat. This is annoying. If you get bonus feats for flaws, I'd jump on the mounted combat, mounted archery bandwagon. Then halfling outrider might also be an option... Advantages: *Your WF and WS also apply to your HtH weapons (due to Talenta Warrior), so you are still quite good in HtH. * Note the +1 mounted damage granted by Talenta Warrior. Also, adding the action point die to damage can occasionally be REALLY handy when you *need* the damage. *At 6th level the ranged trip is beyond handy. It _will_ work very nicely against horses and mounted warriors (which it will dismount!). With Ricochet you can perhaps get both in a single attack. If you really are fighting lots of mounted baddies, the ricochet/trip is HUGE beyond belief. (Go for the riders first, not the horse if they have mounted combat feats.) * At 10th level, if you have Boomerang Ricochet, Boomerang Daze, and two-in-one you are beyond scary and moving into broken if your DM allows Ricochet and two-in-one to stack. You _will_ trip 2 people every round, and maybe 4. You will likely daze at least 1 or 2. Damage will be low, but we are talking about up to 8 attacks (which are touch attacks!).
