My char is still low level, a plain fighter, and not much prospect of multi-classing. None of the base classes make sense for him. He's a frontier militia-type, NG tending to CG, high STR and DEX, average INT, low WIS etc. He's quite dandy at Mounted Combat though, and is taking appropriate feats and skills. I, the player, like to have something to build towards though. Something to keep the char focused and something to look forward to. Hence, PrCs. However, every decent Mounted Combat PrC is based on either divine casting ability (ie: Hospitaller) or a lawful nature (Cavalier, and purt near every thing else). And it doesn't seem quite fair that a char who can be very specialised in Mounted Combat can't have some sort of Special Mount, leaving him with the prospect of buying a new light warhorse every month or to. The absence of survivability in regards to the chars mount makes me hesitant to use it sometimes. Any ideas would be appreciated. I thought the "Ranger Knights of Furyondy" from Dragon a few issues back was quite nice, but the Two Weapon Fighting and Track feats would be a waste for this char. The only published PrC my char has any hope of ever qualifying for at this rate is Horizon Walker, but gaining the Knowledge - Geography ranks will make my char quite advanced before it becomes available. I'd rather build to a mounted PrC. Ideas?
