Halfling riding a wardog. :)

Could do some funny things with the warbeast template in Monster Manual 2. Find a critter that likes underground and train it...

War Dire Badger...oooooooo...War Carrion Crawler.

Go for smething that can climb walls and or burrow, tunnel, fly. I like big bats,(both kinds) spiders, dire badgers(we don't need no stinkin badgers),and those medium sized dragonlike things in the dragon paladin/mount issue. Not having MM2 can't make any suggestions on the warbeat template.

I being the DM in question,
you sure jeph? I was the one that made him fly off the horse:D .

For the dungeon, I think it would be your call...

It wouldn't be handle animal, thats only if their friendly (or at least it would be a very big check) it would be animal empathy.

Ivan:
(3)I would've allowed a ride check to stay on the horse, but it still wouldn't follow you, so it would've gotten annoying to have a "bucking bronco" type of thing that just lasted until you missed your ride check.

just find an honest person and bye a stupid horse seeing as you've been cheated by that blacksmith many times, and besides, Akiko used her music to lets you guys steal horses :p

and just for fun
And third will someone please tell my friend that i can ride someone elses horse without it attacking me, horses arnt that smart
3) Horses certainly are that smart, and can be trained to accept only a single rider.
3) some horses are that ornery
HAHAHAHAH
jus kiddin

oh yeah, calm is a trick (learned from handle animal) from masters of the wild that lets otherwise fearful animals follow you into dungeons and climb big staircases and stuff
