Star Trek was definitely better than Angels and Demons, but A&D wasn't all bad. At least they changed the ridiculous ending of the book.

I've only read A&D and while it was ok, the Da Vinci Code was much better.

I'm not sure where all this hype for the movie is coming from.

I'll see it, but probably when it comes to netflix.

I will make attempts to see Star Trek again though!

I read DaVinci Code and could barely finish it; after a couple of years I was pressured into reading Angels & Demons -- I couldn't finish it this time. Dan Brown is, for me, a truly terrible writer -- plots are ridiculously over-complicated, play to base prejudices, and are simply unbelievable beyond all measure. I was forced to watch DaVinci Code as a movie -- it was even worse than the book. I simply cannot imagine seeing this new movie.

Trek, while far from perfect, was an enjoyable ride.

Dan Brown writes thrillers that are like travelogues, though it makes little sense.

For example,
why doesn't the assassin kill all four cardinals and just brand them and leave them at one spot if he wants to frame the Illuminanti? Why make it so complicated and leave them all over Rome and the Vatican City, including having to squeeze through a crowd to get right to the front of St Peter's Square?

You just have to accept the silliness of it. In the book,
Langdon jumps out of the copter with a tarp.
Man...

CERN did a page to answer some of the ridiculous things in the book. You can find it here:
