Amanda and I went to Franklin to see "The Wizard of Oz" on the big screen and got the new schedule.

On July 14 & 15, "Goldfinger" is showing! That is still my favourite James Bond movie.

On August 25 & 26, "Airplane" is showing.

On Sept. 22 & 23, "Rocky" is showing.

On Oct. 13 & 14, the original "King Kong" is showing!

All on the big screen!

Man, I would love to see Goldfinger again. I, of course, have the James Bond RPG and absolutely loved that game. Even today, it still holds up pretty well. And I have a ton of stuff for it, including the Goldfinger adventure (which is pretty different from the movie.)

I understand the book is fairly different from the movie. I finally found a copy of the book in a used bookstore but haven't had a chance to read it yet. Perhaps the adventure is based on the book.

I have most of the James Bond books, up until the early 1990s. I actually enjoyed them more than the movies. Bond is grittier in print than the flashy superspy on the screen.

And on a related note, my wife's maiden name is Bond. Her mom, who was a county commissioner out in Nevada, used Bond 007 in her billboards and actually has a Bond 007 license plate.

I actually have most of the Bond films on tape, except for the Brosnan ones.

On a side note... I heard today that Rocky 6 is supposed to be in theaters this Dec. He's supposed to come out of retirerment for one last fight.
