The thing seems to wear a perpetual smirk, and its yellow eyes glow madly. Evil little creatures hailing from another world, the nightmare hobgoblins feed on the powerful emotions of humanoids before killing them. A nightmare hobgoblin stands about a foot tall and weighs little more than 5 pounds. They psychically feed on any form of powerful emotion, be it lust, rage or despair, and find intelligent life to be the best source of these emotions. Of course, they are vicious and cruel, and they like to tailor illusory situations to cater to their chosen prey’s desires or fears, and then knock off the unsuspecting dupe after they feed. Nightmare hobgoblins speak a crude dialect of Sylvan as well as Common. Combat Nightmare hobgoblins are attracted to bright lights. They will often send a few of their number to attack chosen victims, in order to confuse and distract them while other nightmare hobgoblins read the prey’s thoughts. The nightmare hobgoblins then use their spell-like abilities to stimulate their victims before killing them, usually through the illusion itself. Evasion (Ex): Whenever a nightmare hobgoblin is subject to an effect that requires a Reflex save, it takes no damage on a successful save. Pounce (Ex): A nightmare hobgoblin that charges an opponent can make a full attack even though it has already moved. Spell-like Abilities: At will- detect thoughts (DC 18), major image (DC 20), suggestion (DC 20); 3/day- confusion (DC 21), crushing despair (DC 21), fear (DC 20), rage (DC 20); 1/day- dominate person (DC 22), persistant image (DC 23). Caster level 10th. The save DCs are Charisma based. Feats: A nightmare hobgoblin’s Spell Focus feats apply to any spell-like abilities the nightmare hobgoblin has from those spell schools. Demiurge out.
