Hi
Has anyone some idea for a "musical dungeon"?
A dungeon that is composed of musical traps, riddles, themes.
Thanx in advance

two words my friend

Bardic lich.

I really hope they make the bardic lich template for 3e soon, for completist sake if nothing else.

As for traps and obstacles you should make it so that the only way to get through a door is to sing a set of notes (make a performance check.)

You should also look for musical puns (like a sharp and b flat. If your pc fails the music roll they could either be crushed or cut.)

The dungoen would also be populated by musical monsters (such as destrachan, satyrs, sirens, harpies and even lillend.)

hope this helps.

You need to base things on Eights (an Octave) lots of Sonic stuff, moaning hallways, crystals chimes, Drums of Doom.

Perhaps the whole Dungeon is some Vast Musical Instrument

the UR Flat trap has already been alluded to above other temese could be:

FACE
- a Hall with walls carved with moaning faces. This trap can only be bypassed by playing the right tune - moving blocks etc to block the unwanted Face-Notes

Every Ant Does Grow (EADG)
Ant = Formians? or a room in which the PCs Shrink they have to get back to the Grow room in order to be restored

Doe-Ray-Me-Far-Sew-La-Tea
This gives you a list of themes
Doe - Deer-like Monsters
Ray- Ray of ??? Trap
Me- Face a mirror image/doppleganger
Far - Teleport Trap
Sew - Flesh Golem
Lava - as in a 'pit of'
Tea- The ubiquitous Haunted Dining Hall

Well, my wife and I once wrote a Call of Cthulu game where the characters were The Partridge Family. Does that count?

For your AD&D I'd toss in a lot of period-based musical instruments, each with their own purpose in the grand scheme of things. I'd make the final element the characters finding the sheet music that need to be played for the goal to be accomplished.
