OK, our party is a group of 4 11th level PCs consiting of:

1 Halfling Male Scout/Ranger/Master Thrower N
1 Human Female Battledancer/Fighter/Barbarian/Champion of Gwynefar (spelling?) CG
1 Half-elf (effectively Human but with elven features) Male Battle Sorcerer CN
1 Desert Half-orc Male Cleric of the Remover-of-Obstacles/Demonwrecker NG

Currently in Sigil, planning on planar questing to recover the remaining 3 pieces of an artifact. Beastlands and the Abyss are definetly on the schedule.

Given that we are in Sigil the DM has said that almost anything we can want is available, and the party has retained the services of an excellent tout who has proven her skill and trustworthiness to the party to help them locate hard to find items. Generally the party is probablly ahead of thw wealth by level guidelines, and they are willing to pool resources to obtain useful items.

So, what are some must have items for planar travellers? The party has several evil-outsider bane or cold iron weapons and some unique protective items, given that they have mainly be facing demons and their servants. Overall an embarrasment of riches. So the PCs are really looking for items with good utility rather than just upgraded weapons and armor. Unique or interesting ways to spend the gp would also be welcome;the Battle Sorcerer, for example, is contemplating entering a Dragon Pact (from Dragon Magic) to gain an ally as well as access to some spells outside of his normal (blaster) focus.

Thoughts?

You have no party Wizard; you'll need lots of utility items - a Wand of Extended Rope Trick (and a rope, of course) for resting; an Amulet of the Planes for when you have to leave someplace. A wand of Knock, haste, and a few other things are also useful. If you can arrange it, you also want a Permanencied Arcane Sight (can-do off of scrolls) to give you advance warning of invisible sneaks, magic traps, Illusions, and the like.

Everyone in the party needs a necklace of adaptation (or that nifty Ioun stone that serves almost the same purpose).
