Unscrupulous merchants market Death Rattle toys, T-shirts, and trading cards featuring Death Rattle's victims. There is currently a Death Rattle motion picture under production. Pro-abortion organizations decry Death Rattle's actions as part of some sort of right-wing, anti-woman conspiracy. More than a handful of fiery religionists expound on the theme of God's judgment being manifest in Death Rattle's murderous activities.</p><p></p><p>One noteworthy facet of Death Rattle's activities is that it sometimes does not visit its horrible vengeance upon women who have harmed or killed their children. This seems especially true of young, unwed mothers who terminated their pregnacies. It is not the case that such women have not be visited by Death Rattle, but few who have will speak of their experiences.</p><p></p><p>Still, it does seem as there is an element of compassion within Death Rattle's psyche. One young, unwed mother who procured an abortion did grant an off-camera interview in which she tearfully claimed that Death Rattle appeared to her as her dead child, seeking love and offering forgiveness. In the media firestorm that followed the interview, the young woman went underground, changing her name in order to escape the public eye.</p><p></p><p><strong>Appearance:</strong> Death Rattle appears as a toddler carrying a tattered teddy bear (dubbed its "deady bear" by media wags) and a toy rattle, but its head is a fleshless skull the empty sockets in which burn a baleful fire.</p><p></p><p><strong>Powers:</strong> A word of advice for heroes: Don't let Death Rattle's size fool you. This monster is a formidable opponent. Being undead, Death Rattle is virtually immune to harm. Even if destroyed, it simply rises again to once more terrorize and punish. Its toy rattle is actually a weapon of dread mystic power.
