Hello MarauderX First off I want to say thanks for sharing this great idea with all of us on the forums. It's just the sort of Tool I was looking for to work on "Class Balancing" with my own Castles & Crusades Mod/HouseRules. This will reeeeealy help me balance all the classes against each other at each level (I will be keeping the structured leveling system only because it is for a C&COldSchoolConvincesomeoldschoolbudiestoplayD&Dagainandslowlyeasethemintotheworldof20muahahahahahha! plan I have. But even though I won’t be using it as you intended right away it’s a fantastic resource for balancing. I am a big fan of 1 EXP Progression table for all classes. That way more or less everyone will advance at the same level. Although I'm a little bit of a Grognard, I always hated the (what appeared to me as haphazard) exp amounts for Advanced D&D leveling. I love the core Mechanic of d20 and I want to keep as much harmony and consistency in the game as possible. Your Exp Point Buy system will go a long way towards me achieving that. BTW have you seen the work Jaertellas has done with his own Point Buy system over on the Wizards d20 msgbrds. It is more or less along the same lines as your work, except the exp is handed out more along the lines or the HERO System. That is in the since you get 3exp or 4exp a session then use that to buy improvements which are broken down into basic elements like yours. http://boards.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=496454 I haven't looked at it as closely as your work so I can't say if its play balanced or play tested yet. Have you spent much time play testing your rule set to see if the exp cost for various character improvements are balanced against each other?
