That said, you are correct: Seattle, per that survey, had the highest number of respondents per capita who said they were not religious.  Number 2 was Vermont.  Out of the next five states, four of them were the remaining states of the Pacific Northwest, with California in the middle. Overall America has a much more self-identifying religious population than most industrialized nations, but within America (if the data was/is accurate), then the Northwest is the least religious part of the US.</blockquote>
