Well, after much debate over a variety of names (Frostbite and A Slave Unchained were also popular choices) I finally got a hit which both members of my band can dig: Throne of Orcus. I'm pretty happy: thus far in any band I've been a part of, I've always suggested the names, and there have been many over the years: Anonymous X was one back in grade 9 for a Battle of the Bands show which me and my then-bandmates played some System of a Down, then in high school there was me a couple guys who were kinda throwing around the idea to start a band - the name then was Tartarus, after the Greek version of Hell. But none of those acts saw through.... Now though, I have two awesome guitarists who are really dedicated to a once a week band practice and a bassist who's a buddy of mine form work who's interested in getting in on this. We are still looking for a drummer, but all in time - right? In any case, I now have a couple of dedicated guys who want to write their own material (which I love, because I have well over 50 pages of lyrics in various forms of finishedness in the works right now) and do a few covers of some of our mutually-liked bands (Lamb of God and God Forbid are a couple which we will be covering a track or two each). So, for me, things are pretty good right now, and pretty busy - I work Sunday through Thursday, have band practice Fridays and game on Saturday. Life is good :) Just thought I'd share. cheers, --N
