Thought I'd share with you the basics behind the campaign I am running at this time. At it's core it's a d20 Modern/Star Wars game. The basics are such. Dear Uncle George (Lucas) is in reality a scout from the Imerial Scout Service. He came to earth back in the early '60s. He fell in love with the world and knew what the Imps were up to and decided to try and educate us. To do so he has used our entertainment industry to make movies about the Empire. Now, 40 years later (Dec 2002) the PCs are all members of the military from all over the world, they have been hand picked to join a secret organization called Planetary that guards the world from itself (See the DC Comics series of the same name). The first incling that something is up for the PCs is when 1 of them gets a call from a buddy of his that is an astronomer in Hawaii. He tells the pc something is up and pays for him to come to Hawaii to the observitory he has and look at something. When the pc does so he sees 2 triangular shaped shipsin orbit around Mars. Yes these are Star Destroyers (Imp Star II's to be exact). The second thing the pc's get to tip them off is one of them sees a grainy image from a camera of a body found in the arctic wilderness. Depicted in it is an Imperial Viper Probe Droid. Shortly thereafter, the Impstar II's take up orbit around the earth. The pc's now in the employ of Planetary have to do ops against the IMps to determine what the intentions of the Empire are and also to get some tech. So far the ops the pc's have had are a techgrab run at a scout base built too close to the players Planetary base and a hostage rescue of an Imp defector that was grabbed by a wannabe terrorist group. The players are hyped about this one and I am so glad of such! Eric the Dread0395
