wow. thanks for the thorough review. here's my thoughts. Yes, that is basically correct. I wanted a guy who could cast spells, but still had the heart of a warrior. I was worried about making him too powerful...funny as that may seem, understanding all I gave the class. This was on purpose to give the class a skills 'head start' at 1st level. Easily dropped. Like you said, I think this is a skill all physically-oriented classes should get, like Climb, Jump, etc - hence its inclusion. Yep. That's correct. First off, I didn't want to deal w/spell failure issues w/armor. I saw this class a being a fighting guy who wraps himself in mana for both protection and enhancement of his skills. Since Charisma is the basis of his power, it seemed natural to make it the basis of his defense. So, long story short, I 'borrowed' the monk's 'applying wisdom modifier to AC' mechanic to work here. The list isn't done yet. I wanted to get a sanity check with the basics aspect of the class first before progressing to that. I'm feeling like the list should be based around buffing spells, movement enhancement and a couple direct damage spells. Am open for suggestions... Other suggestions, then? I'm looking for an alternative to the standard spell casting mechanic. If it's too much to do that AND create a new class, so be it. But I thought a new mechanic here would add to the distinctiveness of the class. That makes sense. Will change. The point about the stacking being obscene is taken (I did mean attack bonus, btw). Although, in designing this, I kept the AW's BAB progression less than typical fighter types in hopes of compensating. Re: Charisma being for magical abilities...well, that's kinda the whole point of the class - the melding of magic and combat together. If including it throws off the balance of power, then it's gone. I just wanted to tie it in for flavor reasons. At any rate, thanks for the help, khaalis. i'll post a revised edition.
